.

Room 16 has been learning about electrical circuits.  We read 'The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch'.  We imagined that Mr Grinlings lighthouse had gone out.  We wrote these letters to him.

Dear Mr Grinling,
I bumped into the rocks.  I damaged my boat.  Maybe your lightbulb is broken.  You could have forgotten to turn the light on.
From Zaymia
Dear Mr Grinling,
Your light is not working.  I think the battery has died.  That lights circuit is broken.  I’m quite sad that boats are crashing into the hard rocks.
From William
Dear Mr Grinling,
Your light in your lighthouse stopped working.  A wire has come out of your circuit.  I think you should fix it now because you need the boats to see where they are going.
From Keanu
Dear Mr Grinling,
I think it has cracked open otherwise…your cat has pulled your wire.  Oh my, you need to make a circuit with some crocodile wires, a battery and a light bulb.  You need a circuit, piece of glass to hold the light bulb in.   It will be hard to make a circuit.  It was hard for me.  If you cannot make a circuit call me and I will help you.  I think it will be very fun, it was fun for me when I did it.  You would have a lovely time.  I think that that lunch would be yum in your tummy.  Tell the man to look after your delicious lunch.
From Taryn
Dear Mr Grinling,
I am scared that the lighthouse is dead.  Check the light so if it is broken you can buy a new one.  Check the shiny large battery.  Make sure your circuit is connected to your battery.  If it is not, then connect it back together.  Last but not least, the wire.  If the wire wasn’t working, hmm check it.
From Kayla
Dear Mr Grinling,
I think you might want to check the wires to see if any wires have fallen out.
From Jack

Dear Mr Grinling,
I can see that your beautiful lighthouse has got flat.  I think you have to check your bulb hasn’t got cracked or your wire hasn’t got unplugged Mr Grinling.
From Ansh
Dear Mr Grinling,
Your light went off in your lighthouse.  Your light stopped working because a wire came out of your circuit.  I think you should fix it now because you need the boats to see where they are going.
From Brooklyn
Dear Mr Grinling,
Your light is broken.  What you have to do, you need to buy a battery and then put it in and then it will work.  I hope you have a good day.
From Jessie
Dear Mr Grinling,
I am very sorry your light is not working properly.  Try some of these ideas.  Well, things that use electricity…never work without electricity!  Maybe you could recharge it or change the battery.  Batteries DO go flat you know!  Have you recharged it?  You have just brought it, I heard.  Maybe it’s broken.  Maybe a wire has come out of the circuit.  But you better do it fast; small and big boats are crashing into the very hard, sharp and spiky rocks!  I will go there this week to see what is wrong.  I hope I can make it better; even a little bit.  People are getting injured especially the drivers.  I do not want this to happen any more.  I will definitely fix it for you.  Your cat maybe could guard it or get the owner to look at it.  He would have to get something right!  I hope it gets fixed.
Yours sincerely
Sofia
Dear Mr Grinling,
I think your light has gone out at your lighthouse.  I think you need to replace the battery or recharge the battery.  You also need a light bulb and wire.
From Aman
Dear Mr Grinling,
You should have done a circuit because if you didn’t do a circuit the light wouldn’t go on.
From Leah
Dear Mr Grinling,
Your light is broken.  Your light has broken and you need to go to the lighthouse and fix it some day.  It would be good to fix the wire.
From Joesy
Dear Mr Grinling,
I can see that your light house light is flat but I am going to tell you some things that you can do with it.  You can recharge the battery or your wire might be unplugged.  I checked it last week.
From Chelsie
Dear Mr Grinling,
Your lighthouse does not work.  You should fix your lighthouse or the boats will crash.  You should fix it right now!  You need a battery and it needs to be a circuit because the light won’t work if you don’t put a battery in it.
From Jaden
Dear Mr Grinling,
I think your lighthouse is broken!  You need to put in a new battery.  You need to check your circuit.
From Ryan
Dear Mr Grinling,
I think you need to check the wire in your lighthouse and you need to make a circuit.  That might be how you could fix it.
From Max
Dear Mr Grinling,
Your light has gone out.  I think your circuit is broken because the light is cracked and your wire is cut.  You need to check your circuit is completely stuck together.
From Caleb
Dear Mr Grinling,
Your lighthouse is not working because I saw it last week.  It needs a new circuit.  I think your dessert looks yummy and your lunch.
From Chynna
Dear Mr Grinling,
Your lighthouse is broken because your battery is flat and the wire is cut.
From Aston
Dear Mr Grinling,
You should look at your light in your lighthouse because it’s out.  I think that your battery is dead.  You should fix it.  The boats can’t see in the dark any more now.  So it’s good if you fix it now.
From Emily
Dear Mr Grinling,
You lighthouse is broken.  I think your battery is broken.  Check if your battery is not flat.
From Mrs Jasmine
Dear Mr Grinling,
I think your lighthouse wire has got broken.  You need a beautiful circuit.  You need to check your light.  You are a beautiful man.
From Ayla
Dear Mr Grinling,
I can see that your light on your lighthouse is broken.  I think you had an electricity cut.  You may want to put the light bulb, batteries and wire together in a circuit to make it work.  You could also check the batteries.  You have to check it fast.
From Nino

Dear Mr Grinling,
You did not put a new battery in your circuit.  You need to put big batteries to make the light work.
